Position Title: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

Shifts Available:

• Nights (Rotating Weekends)

Job Summary

The MICU Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-focused care in accordance with professional nursing standards and the specific needs of critically ill patients. Working closely with physicians and an interdisciplinary team, the RN provides comprehensive, individualized, and compassionate care using evidence-based practices and established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.”

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform assessments, monitoring, and interventions as ordered by providers.
• Document patient care thoroughly and accurately in the medical record.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
• Translate complex medical information into understandable terms for patients and caregivers.
• Prepare patients and families for self-management following discharge.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to coordinate and deliver a holistic plan of care.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Acute Care RN experience (higher acuity than Med/Surg preferred; strong Med/Surg candidates considered).
• Active Florida RN license or approved multistate RN license (compact license holders must obtain a Florida license within 60 days of relocation).
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through AHA — required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — required within 90 days of hire.
