Salary: $90k / Year - $125k / Year
The Clinic Administrator oversees the daily operational, clinical, and financial management of the outpatient dialysis clinic. Reporting to regional operational leadership, this position ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and team development within an End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) critical care setting.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership & Regulatory Compliance
- Regulatory Readiness: Maintain strict compliance with all federal, state, and local healthcare regulations, including CMS and ESRD Network guidelines; lead state/federal survey prep and implement Corrective Action Plans (CAPs) as needed.
- Facility & Equipment Safety: Ensure a safe, sanitary environment; oversee facility maintenance and inventory control; maintain working knowledge of water treatment systems and dialysis equipment disinfection protocols.
- Documentation & Governance: Maintain accurate, chronological patient records per regulatory standards; facilitate monthly Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings; collaborate regularly with the Governing Body and Medical Director.
Clinical Quality & Patient Outcomes
- Outcome Optimization: Drive quality initiatives to achieve target clinical outcomes, reduce patient hospitalizations, and minimize missed treatments.
- Incident Management: Review, analyze, and address clinical incident reports to continuously improve care protocols and patient safety.
- Nursing Supervision (If Applicable): May serve as or designate the Registered Supervising Nurse / Charge Nurse per state practice acts and internal policy requirements.
Financial & Strategic Growth
- Growth & Scheduling: Develop and execute growth strategies to maximize program utilization; optimize patient scheduling to support access and clinical efficiency.
- Fiscal Accountability: Manage clinic operating budgets, controlling labor and supply costs to meet targeted financial metrics.
Team Management & Development
- Talent Acquisition & Retention: Recruit, onboard, train, and retain qualified clinical and administrative staff.
- Performance Management: Conduct regular performance evaluations, manage staff scheduling, approve hours, and handle employee relations with direct accountability.
- Team Culture: Foster a collaborative, team-oriented culture focused on open communication and high standards of patient care.
Key Partnerships & Relations
- Physician & Provider Engagement: Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the Medical Director, attending physicians, and nephrology partners.
- Community & Hospital Outreach: Serve as the primary operational liaison to local hospitals, vendors, healthcare agencies, and patients/families.
Qualifications & Requirements
Required Education & Experience
- Leadership Track Record: Demonstrated experience leading teams in a healthcare setting with strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Computer Literacy: Proficient with standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfortable learning specialized Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Dialysis Experience: 1+ year of outpatient dialysis management or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
Registered Nurse / Supervising Nurse Qualifications
(Note: If the Administrator does not hold these qualifications, a designated Registered Supervising Nurse must meet them.)
- Licensure: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 18 months of total RN practice, including at least 6 months of direct care experience with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) or kidney failure patients.
- Certifications: Current CPR certification (or obtain within 90 days of hire).
- Physical Requirement: Confirmed ability to distinguish primary colors for clinical assessment/equipment needs.
