Job Summary: 

The Physician is responsible for delivering comprehensive outpatient medical care in a primary care clinic setting. This role involves independent and collaborative work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered healthcare. The position requires clinical expertise, sound judgment, and a commitment to preventive and continuous care.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive primary care services, including patient assessments, diagnostic workups, minor procedures, and coordination of specialty referrals. Practice independently within the full scope of licensure while collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed. Perform minor in-office procedures as credentialed. Deliver patient education and counseling related to health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment plans. Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation in patient medical records. Participate in care coordination with nurses, specialists, pharmacists, and other members of the care team. Support patients with appropriate referrals for lab work, diagnostics, hospitalization, or specialty care. Ensure clinical practices comply with applicable medical standards, legal requirements, and non-discrimination policies. Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, audits, peer reviews, and clinical policy development. Supervise and train clinical support staff to maintain high standards of patient care. Participate in after-hours call rotations and weekend care coverage as scheduled.


Compliance & Professional Standards

Ensure full compliance with HIPAA and other relevant healthcare regulations. Adhere to organizational standards for quality, safety, and service excellence. Maintain all required credentials, including licensure, board certification, DEA registration, and continuing medical education (CME). Engage in ongoing professional development and attend required staff and provider meetings.


Patient Experience

Treat all patients with dignity, compassion, and respect. Promote a culture of service excellence and advocacy for diverse patient populations. Communicate clearly with patients to ensure understanding of diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.


Required Qualifications

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited medical school.

Board Certified or Board Eligible in a primary care specialty.

At least five years of clinical practice experience, including progressive administrative responsibilities, preferred.

Current, unrestricted medical license in the applicable state.

Valid and unrestricted DEA registration.

Eligible for credentialing and participation with public and private health plans.

Ability to obtain and maintain malpractice coverage and hospital privileges, as needed.
